Confusion Part-II: The clouds are clearing
Why does God care?
Well, he put a piece of him in us when he created us. That breath of life again. That was him putting a part of him in us. Now he is forever attached to us. He can only feel complete if he can get us back and make us a part of him again.
Just like a parent, especially a mother can’t ever be really parted from her child, God experiences similar painful pangs when we stay separated from him. Forcing us to him will never truly make us his. And we have that empty feeling that can only be filled when we go back and become a part of him. Or rather become one with him again. When we go back and fit into that empty spot in the jigsaw. If he creates another human being, it would just mean another empty spot that he needs to fill. More pain for him if that new being also exercised his freewill to move away from him. Once bitten, twice shy. Who wants to encounter pain again and again? Not even God.

Remember Jesus, God incarnate, sweating drops of blood at the thought of the pain of death on the cross. Yes, it pains him as well. Much more than us probably. It’s beyond the scope of our imagination. Can you remember the pain you felt when you broke a nail? You know it will be painful but can you now remember the level of pain you experienced. Not likely. Then how can we ever imagine the pain he went through. This biblical verse seems apt in this context of talking about our inability to remember pain: "When a woman is about to give birth, she is in great pain. But after it is all over, she forgets the pain and is happy, because she has brought a child into the world." - John 16: 21
But we can never get back to him on our own. We are tarnished. And we have no means by which we can remove this stain, this fatal flaw on our own. But then he is omnipotent, omniscient. After all, he has an eternity of experience. After all, he is not limited by the bounds of time and space like we are. What does that mean?
Well if we were born on Jupiter (assuming that planet could sustain life) then our concept of time would be very different right. Earth takes 24 hours to complete a rotation. Jupiter takes 10 hours. So every 10 hours we have a new day there. Well, maybe our concept of an hour itself might change. Thank god, we were not born on Mercury. Not only would it have been a bit too hot to handle but a day would have lasted 1,408 hours. Gosh! Sometimes, an 8-hour shift in office seems like an eternity. Imagine a day that’s equivalent to approximately two months on earth.
What I am trying to say is that the concept of time changes depending on which part of the universe you are in.
